Te Pūanga Whakaari Theatre Productions
Artistic Directors: Karla Haronga and Reihana Haronga
We are committed to producing professional contemporary theatre for our local audiences, with a focus on promoting and supporting the Feilding community as much as possible.
Our name comes from our first performance. Pūanga is the first star seen in the sky at Matariki; a time significant to Māori and our theatre company forming in 2010. It was also the star mentioned in “Purapurawhetū” by Briar Grace Smith; our first production. Whakaari means the work of the arts. So, our name represents new beginnings and the beauty of Arts works.

CURRENT SHOW
After three sell-out seasons and numerous private showings in NZ’s most beautiful town, Feilding, Friday’s Flock hits Wellington with a three-show season at BATS Theatre. Inspired by the stories and personalities of the rural community and filled with kiwi humour, Friday’s Flock will resonate with the New Zealander in us all.
